SIGMA BEAMS
The Weland Sigma beam is a support beam with low weight and high strength. A suitable application, for example, is for mezzanine structures.
The Weland Sigma beam is a profile with low weight and high strength. The Sigma beam is very well suited to e.g. mezzanine constructions.
Sigma beams
The Sigma beams are manufactured with a yield stress of 350 N/mm2, with hot dip galvanized finish, in a number of different standard heights, material thicknesses and lengths, and they can be used both indoors and outdoors without any further surface treatment.
The beams have punched holes with a separation of 50 mm, which match our assembly fittings and railing systems. This means that assembly can be performed quickly and easily, with no need for welding. The Sigma beams are so light that they usually do not require lifting assistance. Our lightest model weighs under 6 kg/lpm. There are also large holes in the centre of the beam for routing electrical cables and pipes.
See download at the bottom of the section for cross-sectional data.

Surface treatment
Our Sigma beam is hot dip galvanized as standard. In our own plant, the Sigma beams are surface treated to withstand great stress. The method provides a very robust protection against corrosion. For more information, please visit our page for surface treatment.
