Function and design in one package

When electrical installations company NoBa El & Säkerhet AB needed an evacuation staircase for a new extension to their facilities, they opted, quite naturally, for a Weland JOS spiral staircase. It wasn’t just the functionality of the staircase that swayed their decision – the industrial design also played a pivotal role.
– It’s a safe and secure evacuation staircase, and that’s some-thing we believe is crucial. Aesthetics were also an important consideration, and the design of this staircase blends seamlessly with the existing facade of the building, says Henrik Barck, one of the owners of the company.The solid railing infill of the JOS spiral staircase sets it apart from its traditional counterparts and opens up the possibility to experiment with both pattern and colour. NoBa chose a standard pattern with elongated, slotted holes.
– I like the freedom of being able to choose different patterns and that this, when combined with the ability to choose from a huge palette of different colours, means that with get a staircase that really blends in with the environment, says Barck.

More products from Weland
This isn’t the first time NoBa has come to Weland. In addition to the JOS spiral staircase, the company has also previously purchased a Weland straight flight staircase with a glass railing that currently stands at the entrance to the building, as well as outdoor furniture and planters that are housed in the courtyard, the latter being from our Weland Design brand. 

Smålandsstenar-based NoBa El & Säkerhet AB has experienced consistent growth ever since it was founded by Henrik Barck and Bengt Norrby in 2006. The company currently employs 13 people and works with municipalities, companies, and private individuals.

Local collaboration

He emphasises the value of local collaboration and views Weland’s strategy of locating all its manufacturing in Sweden as a real positive that makes things simpler and easier.
