Painting
In our modern paint shops, we can perform the work in primed or top-coated versions. In collaboration with our subsidiary Weland Welded Components AB, we provide various types of painting, both traditional "wet" as well as powder painting.
Thanks to our large premises, we can handle bulky objects with dimensions up to 10 x 10 metre for both sand-blasting and painting.
Top-coating is done with all the shades on the RAL scale.
Hot dip galvanisation
Hot dip galvanisation of steel is one of the most effective and most tested surface treatments available to combat rusting. Steel products that will be hot dip galvanised and corrosion protected are dipped into a zinc bath with molten zinc. A reaction occurs in the contact surface between the steel and liquid zinc forming a ferrous/zinc alloy. This means that the zinc layer cannot flake off or rust from the inside. Weland's subsidiary, Zinken Weland, has a modern hot-dip galvanising facility in Ulricehamn.
The diagram shows the average service life for different thicknesses of zinc in different environments.
Pickling
During the welding and grinding of stainless steel objects, the surface is damaged. If these areas are not treated by pickling, there is a great risk for corrosive attack. To restore the surface and obtain satisfactory corrosion resistance, the product has to be pickled.
